About Me

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the White Lodging-J.W. Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue University, where I also earned a Master’s degree in Statistics. Before joining Purdue, I received a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management and a Master’s degree in Hospitality Management from Kyung Hee University, South Korea.

My research interests include:

  • Hospitality Business Analytics
  • Causal Inference with Digital Trace Data
  • Tourism Economics

Specifically, I examine micro-level dynamics within the hospitality and experience economy ecosystem, while also exploring how complex tourism systems at the macro level shape societal and economic outcomes. My work employs advanced data analytics and computational/statistical techniques to analyze large-scale, high-resolution datasets (e.g., user-generated content, mobility records, and point-of-interest data). Through this research, my ultimate goal is to provide credible, data-driven evidence that advances understanding of the complex and evolving dynamics of hospitality and tourism.

In addition to my personal research, I work as a researcher at the Center for Hospitality and Retail Industries Business Analytics (CHRIBA) at Purdue. In this role, I contribute to data-driven reports and collaborative projects that deliver actionable insights to support evidence-based decision-making for stakeholders across the global tourism and hospitality industries.
